Welcome to Petoskey Jazz Collaborative

The Petoskey Jazz Collaborative (PJC) fosters a supportive space for adult amateur musicians to learn, laugh, play, and grow in jazz, regardless of skill level. With a focus on collaboration and improvisation, PJC welcomes beginners and experienced players alike.

About

The Petoskey Jazz Collaborative (PJC) aims to promote collaboration among adult amateur musicians interested in learning and playing jazz. We welcome individuals of all skill levels, whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time or have never played jazz before. PJC emphasizes a supportive environment to help participants grow and express their musical creativity, particularly in improvisation, which is frequently intimidating for beginners.

PJC, founded by Tim Ismond, Kay Ismond, and David Chauvin, is a nonprofit organization aimed at supporting amateur musicians. Its mission focuses on prompting healthy aging, personal growth, cognitive challenges, and social interaction among its members. The organization provides a platform for individuals to engage in musical activities that foster community and enhance well-being, addressing both mental and social aspects of aging.
